Taxis are expensive too. There's no reason to expect Uber is going to be cheap. It's a business. They just have to be more convenient and maybe a bit cheaper than the alternative. They were losing money to get the business. They don't have to do it anymore. I'm someone that thinks that the less Uber is available the more likely public transportation will get better.
