I love my dog and plan on not eating her. But I can't think of a convincing reason why it would be more or less ethical than eating a pig or a cow.

- version_five 3y agoI don't like dogs at all, but we have co-evolved with them and they're the closest animal species friend we have. I can see why if there was going to be a curb on eating some non-endangered animal, it would be on dogs. I was just thinking the other day about those stupid peta "how can we love one and eat the other" ads and it makes me think that those people must not have morals if they really can't tell the difference.

- Kerb_ 3y agoWe've coevolved with sheep, pigs, cows, and chickens too. They don't normally produce that much wool/fat/milk/eggs. If you can't stomach eating dog, especially meat dogs bred to be butchered, that might be more of a personal thing than a morality thing. They don't look or act like your dog either. And your dog would probably eat it as well.
