An Infuriating New Online Game Asks: Would You Be Able to Immigrate to the U.S.?
- getarofilter 3y ago[dead]
- SenAnder 3y ago> The game relies heavily on Bier's June policy analysis, "Why Legal Immigration Is Nearly Impossible." Doesn't the US accept nearly 2 million legal immigrants per year? Underlying the article is the presumption that not being allowed to immigrate to the US, despite one's virtue, is somehow unfair. That, unlike other countries, who can choose to accept as many or as few immigrants as their people want, the US owes the world to let them come. “A friend to all is a friend to none” - No wonder patriotism is falling, when the US shows no more loyalty to its own people than to anyone else, and any limits still placed on immigration are treated as archaic and obsolete, vestigial laws left over from less enlightened times.
