Show HN: PostOwl, in-place editable blog powered by SvelteKit and SQLite
Hi HN, I came up with the idea for PostOwl about ten years ago! Today I can finally share it with the world.
A huge thank you to Michael Aufreiter who wrote most of the code and inspired the editing interface with his editable.webite
PostOwl is open-source and there are docs for deploying your own site for free. Give it a spin and let us know what you think!
- andric 3y agoSince the docs mention deploying to Fly.io, I wonder if it’s possible to use their managed LiteFS service for backup?
- keybits 3y agoGreat question. I'm working on this now. Expect documentation updates soon. https://www.postowl.com/newsletter/ https://www.postowl.com/newsletter/ to get updates.
- hostcontroller 3y agoCongrats on the launch! I saw the submission for editable.website [0] a few months ago and really liked the approach. I'm definitely going to give PostOwl a try as well, thanks for building it! [0]: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=35456083 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=35456083

- nilskj 3y agoCMS-free blog launcher, smooth user experience and a fancy in-place wysiwyg-editor. High quality tech with SvelteKit, embedding the SQLite database with the app is such a nicely architectured solution for this. Congratulations on the fantastic release!
- keybits 3y agoThank you for the kind words!
