God Did the World a Favor by Destroying Twitter
- bottlepalm 3y agoSomehow the media farming clicks by proclaiming Twitter’s demise everyday for a year has driven Twitter’s user numbers to all time highs - https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1684978651857596429 https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1684978651857596429 Put another way: Tired: Wired Wired: 𝕏
- 3cats-in-a-coat 3y agoReminds me a bit about how they milked Trump. All late night shows became Trump shows. And then ratings crashed when Biden came in. This is not the only time people see similarities between Musk and Trump, and how media react to them. Lots of similarities. It's a model of behavior now, and it'll be replicated again and again.

- tamimio 3y agoGreat article, although I don’t think the internet will get “Babelized” again as it was before, the only remaining monolithic platform (other than Twitter/Reddit) that still somehow holding itself is instagram, because it’s populated by brand-lusting shallow people, but I reckon it will be over for it soon. The next era of social media is just the scattered niches populated and managed by smaller communities.
