Show HN: I built an iOS app that helps YouChoose faster
Hey,
This is Yash here. I built YouChoose because I was confused about how to have my eggs - scrambled or as an omelet. This made me realize.....
In life, we spend too much time thinking about our choices rather than making a choice. These things take up too much mental bandwidth that is better utilized elsewhere. In most circumstances, we just need to make the call - the more we delay, the more it exerts us.
Input your two choices. Hit the Choose button. And that's it. There's only one caveat - you can't go back (for the same choices).
YouChoose is my micro effort to introduce some randomness in people's life.
I am eager to hear your thoughts and comments!
- dotcoma 3y agoBecause tossing a coin was too hard.
- yashpoojary 3y agoTrue that! Having a visual representation in front of me helped me cement the decision. Can't compete with a good old coin toss though.
- nashashmi 3y agoWhy an app? That I have to install? Why not a web app? Seems easy enough.
- yashpoojary 3y agoFair point! I'm an iOS developer and like coding in Swift hence the app.
- notathinker 3y agoWhat’s your source of entropy? I don’t just need my indecision, resolved by an app, I need the feeling that my choice is being made for me by the cosmic background radiation! When I have real breakfast decisions to be made I fire up random.org.
- yashpoojary 3y agoHaha. Thanks for introducing me to random.org.
