AT&T's chatbot pretends to not be able to 'hear' you
- the_lego 3y agoWill chatbots (and soon voice chatbots) just be used as a denial of service attack against customers? To cheaply waste your time, giving the illusion of meaningful interaction, until you give up?
- marssaxman 3y agoIsn't that what they have always been for?
- ing33k 3y agothis looks like a default message that the bot sends when the bot is not able to understand the message. May be it's hoping that the user will rephrase their message.
- thedanbob 3y agoIf so, someone didn't think it through. The natural response to someone saying "what was that?" is to repeat yourself louder, not rephrase.
- karmakaze 3y agoIt should say "could you speak up?" People are more likely to hang up if they find themselves yelling at a machine (in a one party conversation).
- thefurdrake 3y agoThe metric (case volume) became the target, and then it all went downhill.
