It seems like a really, really difficult task to enforce any laws that might develop around this. This isn't like paparazzi nudes that get out every few years - it's just math, and thousands could be generated overnight with little compute.
I don't know what the laws should be, but I think there are some serious limitations on what's possible/practical at this point.
- Cthulhu_ 3y agoThere ARE laws against this kind of thing, defamation and whatnot. It's the same as editing a face onto someone else's (naked) body. No new laws are needed; the method has changed, not the intent nor the crime / violation.
- __loam 3y agoThere are a lot of technically possible things you can do with a computer that are currently illegal. Just because you are able to do something doesn't mean there won't eventually be legal consequences, even if enforcement is impractical.
