I don't really think it's that obsolete, it's not like it's a lot of cou time or disk wear. The auto save is really good these days in some apps, so I see the point of stopping, but it's also not that great in others. A bigger issue is accidentally doing it in a web browser. Since when is saving a web page so frequent it needs a shortcut? Savings pages barely works at all on some sites!
