A Ford Maverick starts in the $20k range. Now that's apples to oranges as far as features, intended purpose, etc... ... but the Ford Maverick exists. Rivian's R1 is _all they have_, and the R2 won't dip that low at all. There's no option there for me. Not to mention nobody can repair the thing if it goes really sideways.
