I know its pedantic (we're on hacker news), but you cant treat latitude and longitude as vectors. I know its just for an analogy but enough people misunderstand

  Well "pedant" means "talking to young learners", and we are here to learn (and exchange), but I do not think it is appropriate to call this public «pedantic» there where it strongly seems that "pedant" is used to mean "focused on the trifle". This public includes esteemed prestigious professionals. And people with achievements - who must have had some good focus to get there.

      Trivially noted (and /that/ is the typical use of "pedantic"). Whereas, substance wise, there is an inquisitive intention. And a different point.
