Why? Were the waitresses incompentent or rude?
- tamimio 3y agoIt has nothing to do with competence, although I doubt any is needed to move plates 10ft around. Do you tip your barista if he/she wasn’t rude, or better, do you tip your self-checkout machine for doing “its job” -although you are still doing it? [1] Tipping is only a North American culture that unfortunately is being exploited by greedy owners to shoulder costs on the customers who are already paying an overpriced fees, taxes, and even for the goods itself. I wouldn’t be surprised if few years laters when the whole process is automated, you would still see a tipping option..
