Bud Light maker Anheuser-Busch to lay off hundreds of corporate staff
- mrguyorama 3y agoJust a reminder: fighting against homosexual marriage results in gay people still regularly buying your chicken sandwiches, and a very successful business. Meanwhile, paying an influencer to advertise bud light to an audience of people who SEEK OUT that trans influencer means you lose ten percent of your business. Gee I wonder why everything keeps sucking... And lets go ahead and keep pretending like cancel culture and liberal brainworms are an actual threat to anyone.
- lockhouse 3y agoTo play Devil’s Advocate I don’t think it’s just simple trans hate. My understanding of at least some of the backlash is that as an influencer Dylan Mulvaney targets mostly teens on TikTok with her content. This is a completely unethical target for the Bud Light brand to market to. It’s akin to the Joe Camel ads that likewise targeted underage individuals. Of course anti-LGBT people and groups have joined this boycott as well, but given the numbers I have a hard time believing it’s as simple as bigotry. This is just my understanding of the situation, I don’t have any skin in this game. You couldn’t pay me to drink Bud Light simply based on the taste of it and nothing else.
