Is conditional sampling a reasonable strategy to overcome bias?
- gmartinsribeiro 3y agoYes, if by conditional sampling you mean upsampling the minority class
- ricpereira 3y agoIt depends on the cause of the bias. If, for example, the bias is caused by imbalanced classes or underrepresented concepts in the dataset, conditional sampling can be used to overcome those limitations.
- raxxorraxor 3y agoTheoretically it could work but I guess depending on the prompt you would introduce bias in the vast majority of cases. > ensuring [ethical] considerations I guess we differentiate synthetic/fraudulent data depending on the qualifier like "ethical". Without bias, they are the same. It will get interesting if "synthetic" data in models will be used for analysis. I doubt these processes will be too ethical.
