Yikes. I had to dig deep to read that rant. Ultimately, the best definition in the article defines Design Thinking as such:
> “It’s an approach to problem-solving based on a few easy-to-grasp principles that sound obvious:
- ‘Show Don’t Tell,’
- ‘Focus on Human Values,’
- ‘Craft Clarity,’
- ‘Embrace Experimentation,’
- ‘Mindful of Process,’
- ‘Bias Toward Action,’ and
- ‘Radical Collaboration.’”
I'm not really sure why he is ranting though - these are the principals espoused by some of the most successful VC's, founders, and world renowned Architects.
Does anyone understand why he is so angry?
- HlessClaudesman 3y agoThe whole design thinking mania in the early 2010s was just annoying for actual designers, having to fend off more entry level ideas that have already been considered and rejected. Just because you did a workshop in astronaut thinking doesn't entitle you to start planning spacewalks.
