When I was a teen and was moving rapidly between artistic movements (I still moonlight as an illustrator) I was generally not fascinated with too many comic artists per se (most of what I saw was "good enough" in the spandex-tight world of the Big 2 companies at the time) but Moebius was one of a few that just stuck with me. Elegant, thoroughly idiosyncratic stories, both as a narrative and as visual spectacle. What a bummer to hear.
