Legal tender for all debts public and private.

  Credit cards aren’t legal tender either. And making cards legal tender would be quite absurd, since it would require anyone being owed any money to get a terminal and card acceptance contract in case their debtor decides to collect some credit card points.

  The key word is “debts”. A purchase is not a debt.

    Only technically, a purchase is two debts: delivery if the good and delivery of the money.
