I know I'm stating the obvious, but we're screwed.

  It feels like in the next decade either politicians and CEOs will be dragged into the streets by angry mobs, or a fascist authoritarian tech panopticon will be crystalized and citizens will no longer have the means to make their leaders feel afraid. Either way, future isn't looking to cheery.
