For me, it solved A LOT of cases where users said "your software install fails", "the software doesn't run", or similar claims. They tend to be complicated to troubleshoot: people try setting up new software in an already customized development environments, and all sorts of mistakes are done. It was refreshing being able to say: this works perfectly from a base Ubuntu 20.04 container, launching this and that commands to install and run the software. Anything that diverges from there, you're on uncharted territory and/or is a problem in your system, not a defect in the software.
