In the US the republicans have been on a path straight to totalitarism (some of their members are calling to forbid Democrats from voting when they move states), Israel, many European countries have growing far right parties who are typically just a thin layer of legitimacy on top of far right ideology (take the AFD in Germany or the FN in France who have significant contacts with Neonazi activists).
