This is an example of a bug that FindBugs would catch ( http://findbugs.sourceforge.net/ http://findbugs.sourceforge.net/ ). FindBugs is a static source analysis tool for Java. It's free and open source, no reason not to use it on your codebase :).

Agree 100%, I'm just forgetful and lazy (a winning combination) :P I need to get it set up to run automatically!
