Show HN: Attend – preserve focus by discouraging task switching in OSX
- softwaredoug 3y agoInstead of blocking social media, etc, I find my biggest productivity problem is not sticking with something and focusing on it. It's too easy to CMD-tab around OSX and get lost in a sea of windows, like constantly walking into a room and forgetting why you are there. Finally (thanks to ChatGPT and a little applescript) I figured out how to get the current focus, so I could track how often I switch. I then get a score on how many effective seconds you spent on one task. As I spend more focus in one app, the seconds count more (because focus deepens there). But if I switch a lot (within a minute or two) its like it doesn't even count. Feedback welcome
