- HocusLocus 3y agoBeano is also marking its 33rd anniversary since 1990 ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beano_%28dietary_supplement%29 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beano_%28dietary_supplement%29 ) . More than 200 years had elapsed since Ben Franklin had made an impassioned plea for natural scientists of his day to cure the winds ( https://web.archive.org/web/20130305080250/http://teachingamericanhistory.org/library/index.asp?document=470 https://web.archive.org/web/20130305080250/http://teachingam... ) when they were not too busy doing other things like calculating the trajectories of planets.
- thebruce87m 3y agoIt’s a shame The Dandy didn’t survive too. Looking at Wikipedia, in the 1950s it would sell two million comics a week. My son loves the Beano, we get it delivered. He also has all of my old annuals plus a bunch more we bought second hand.
