I don't want to sound dismissive but this isn't a very deep topic. When people aren't at work they typically pursue their interests and hobbies and find purpose in those. This has been true throughout history.
- shortrounddev2 3y agoTheres a growing crisis with dislocated young men who are unable to find purpose in life because they can't provide for a family which they don't have. Joblessness has more impacts than just financial: a man without a job is often a man without purpose. Even if his needs are taken care of (living with his parents), he is depressed and introverted, choosing to spend all his time inside at home, online. He has no friends, no girlfriend, and no hobbies that don't involve PC gaming
