My guess is that around 75% of Canonical's staffing is sales, sales engineering, customer support, marketing, and misc business functions.
- philjohn 3y agoI mean, it probably helps that a large % of the software they ship as part of Ubuntu is upstream, Kernel, Window Manager, Utils etc. etc. The better metric would be how many people does Apple have working on Darwin/iOS/MacOS/WatchOS/iPadOS/VisionOS in total.
