I remember in the early-mid 90s, I would read many of the foundational RFCs, the ones which became STDs, etc. and down at the bottom, there is always a section labeled "SECURITY CONSIDERATIONS", and every last one says in a single line, "Security considerations are not addressed in this memo." :facepalm:
