Q: What's GAI?
A: When the computer asks, "What's in it for me?"
- prometheus76 3y agoI would word your statement a little differently. What you said sounds very confusing to me, as if you are conflating intelligence with a lot of other things. Intelligence is discernment, heuristics and pattern recognition. Agency is achieving goals. Wisdom is the process of discovering which goals are worth achieving.
- pixl97 3y agoIf this is the definition then it would be incredibly stupid for humans to build an AGI system.
- carapace 3y agoThat second bit is a really old AI joke. It's pointing out a very important, uh, point. Yeah, it's creepy to make people just to enslave them (Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics are also the three laws of a perfect slave, so to speak.) And, yes, it's incredibly stupid to build slaves powerful enough to turn you out (Asimov has a few stories that touch on that, IIRC.)
