I think the user base continues to make a difference in the app's likability and usage pattern.
And yes, it may have been a bit too stagnant in the past, and some of the new changes are kinda good.
But things have gone too far now.
Changing the logo and name (with several other consequent changes) does seem to be a big deal to me. It's good to think bigger and try new things, but why at the cost of wiping off the very foundation of something awesome and legendary?
I had a conversation with my elder brother who was telling me how Twitter was the origin of many of the mainstream things like followers, likes and whatnot.
This seemingly overnight decision (from the track record) is upsetting at the very least.
