This atomisization was essential(?) to industrialize the comfort society. But in any case it failed fundamentally on both the social harmony and environmental sustainability axes. Social bonds and ubuntu (finding meaning in others) is something we naturally do. It doesnt take particular superhuman virtue. The question is whether there is an escape path away from the black hole trajectory we are currently falling-in and towards a more meaningful, sustainable and balanced future.
