This hurt my brain. I guess we envision inside and outside on different sides. Not sure if this is any clearer, but the door will close itself if the bottom hinge is offset from the top in the direction the door opens. Picture the angle of the bottom of the door when it is open 90 degrees and it might be easier to visualize why it falls shut.
