A case study in brandicide.
- quickthrower2 3y agoThis is much worse that the blandification of the Slack logo. Actually the X logo itself is good on it's own terms. And would be great for a newcomer startup, but not for Twitter. Twitter is the household name. This looks like a midlife crisis.
- dotcoma 3y agoAgree. Not to mention that we speak of "tweets" and "retweets", not "mini-posts on Twitter" and "shares on Twitter"...
- DonHopkins 3y agoBlandification? More like Penisification and Swastikafication in one swoop.
- quickthrower2 3y agoHonestly the first time I saw it (I saw it in the app before it was announced) my reaction was "I don't use Python... what is this??"
- guax 3y agowouldn't this logo be not trademarkable since its a mathematical symbol?
- pessimizer 3y agoThe conversation about it is a case study in bikeshedding.
- js8 3y agoYou mean that rebranding to X is a kiss of death?
- dotcoma 3y agoNot necessarily. But they certainly are throwing away the Twitter brand.
