Selfishly, I’m excited only because it might mean Toyota continues to be a viable operation into the future. I want them to be one of the leaders of next generation vehicles, what ever the technology, only because it means they will continue to support their previous generation vehicles, for which they have an honourable history. I want my BJ74 landcruiser to run on diesel until it’s no longer available, and then I want it to run as a hybrid/electric vehicle until like the ship of Theseus we are debating whether or not it’s still a BJ74.
