- Lutger 3y agoThat was the movies, this is science. Different story.
- _2z1p 3y agoScience is wrong all the time. It wasn't that long ago that "science" said that the COVID-19 vaccine had 95% efficacy. There have definitely been incorrect climate doomsayer predictions for decades now and frankly its exhausting noise to most people... https://nypost.com/2021/11/12/50-years-of-predictions-that-the-climate-apocalypse-is-nigh/ https://nypost.com/2021/11/12/50-years-of-predictions-that-t... I'm not denying climate change is occurring but I wish that people would stop with all the doomsday Chicken Little "The Sky is Falling!" tactics. "Could" is doing a lot of work in that headline. It is incredibly unlikely that all of the ice in the Arctic Ocean will completely melt in 17 years. The Earth is one of the most complicated systems in existence, it is arrogant and naive to think that we can effectively model its climate and make accurate predictions. We don't have the understanding or the computing power to input all of the necessary variables.
