According to wikipedia, many types of squamous cell carcinomas are associated with HPV infection. [0] Another area where the US has lagged which would prevent a lot of these cancers from ever developing in the first place is HPV vaccination. Last I heard it was only females who were being routinely vaccinated, and relatively recently at that. We should really be prioritizing eradication of HPV.
