I thought I wanted to be an academic after quitting my 'industry' job then I had to go through some traditions which are trying to teach me things I had to unlearn while working 'professionally' needless to say, my degree is on hiatus; why learn things which I know I will have to unlearn later when I go back into 'industry'? and then the pandemic happened, and then FAANG fired tens of thousands and now I cannot find a job to go back to
