I don't get this perspective at all. Seems like a new breed of hyper-legal worry about litigation yet to happen. I don't want to live in the world you live in, buddy. Please don't take it as a personal attack.
- arghnoname 3y agoIt's not about litigation. Companies have actual secrets, such as upcoming products, mergers, and acquisitions. Putting a bunch of non-public information into these things (often run by competitors!) may inadvertently leak that information on generative text, and that's assuming there's no such thing as corporate espionage.
- Philip-J-Fry 3y agoIt's not a new breed of hyper-legal worry. It's basic privacy that we all expect. I don't expect a customer support advisor to be pasting my messages into an LLM without my knowledge. And no sane company would allow employees to do it with any sort of customer data or proprietary information. We have things like GDPR which are all about protecting your data. People are breaking the law and violating the rights of customers for the sake of making their job a little bit easier.
