- gamblor956 3y agoRussian forces have been attacking civilian targets since the start of the war. We don't need newly-created sock puppet accounts on HN trying to justify their war crimes.

- alsetmusic 3y ago> Yes, its India's fault that Russia is destroying grain shipments to Ukraine, right? I don't think they said anything remotely like this.
- subtra3t 3y agoThat is what they implied. Otherwise there is no point in them villifying India.
- altcognito 3y agoNot vilifying India, just the policy that weakens sanctions by giving them an outlet for oil and inferior weapons sales. Taking a stand to protect other democracies would have been ideal. Germany and other Europeans countries did when they failed to take a stand in 2014, and this is where it has led.
- subtra3t 3y agoIndia's interests are that of its citizens. And that means buying oil at a cheaper rate, even if it is from a country that a certain moral policing nation doesn't like.
- ianzakalwe 3y agoI encourage you before fighting what’s implied get clear on what was meant by the original comment first.
- subtra3t 3y ago"Fighting"?
- dang 3y agoPlease don't cross into personal attack, and please stick within the site guidelines. You broke a number of them here. https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html
- subtra3t 3y agoCalling a comment they made ignorant is a "personal attack"?
- dang 3y ago> ignorant > perhaps you would benefit from actually conducting research > perhaps you would learn > But of course that would require you to actually inform yourself > you so carelessly commented A comment that stacks all of these pejoratives is unquestionably crossing into personal attack. This is not a borderline call. I know how difficult it can be to respond neutrally when someone else is super wrong or you feel that they are. But commenters here need to pause when that happens, and then wait until they can respond neutrally, It's not easy, but we all need to work on it (including me). Otherwise we all go down in flames.
- ianzakalwe 3y agoThere is no need for hostility in your response. Informative reply would be half the Kenya and would provide double the value

- altcognito 3y agoSure, that probably is fair. Incidentally, things seemed to have improved recently here in the past month or so. I think there was a period in the prior 4-5 months where the conversation was a bit of a mess.
