The median age of the average car on the road in the US today is over 12 years. Independent mechanics everywhere are buying and installing rebuilt ICE vehicle engines on a daily basis; you will face no particular difficulty in sourcing one for pretty much any vehicle more than a year old. I'm not saying this can't be - someday - true for EVs, but it's disingenuous to try and throw mud at the fact that this absolutely is the case for ICE cars today.
