- greazy 3y agoThe answer to the question: > So unfortunately it looks as though transmission with XBB variant is going up in some places, including Japan, possibly some parts of the U.S. So I recently took several plane trips and an Acela Train. I wore K95 on both the plane and the train, and in the airports and in Penn Station New York and Union Station Washington D.C. Earlier this year I flew to Seoul Korea and Sao Paulo Brazil and also wore a KN-95. Potentially once the new XBB booster becomes available this fall, and/or if XBB transmission mostly vanishes this won’t become necessary, but for now I agree with our decision. Such a long winded meandering answer. Yes wearing a mask reducing rates of infection. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7253999/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7253999/
