They went into bed with Biden so that they write up the regulations themselves that will benefit them, and then they hand it over to the White House, who then turn around and claim victory by "forcing" the AI companies to adhere to these regulations. So it becomes a win-win for both sides. This is how politics works, most of us just don't understand it.
