What does an analyst do at a vc firm? is it like a smart “admin” (chief of staff) to the principal? I.e. whatever the principal needs you to do - do it now, do it fast and do it well kinda like an investment bank analyst? Or something more specific?
- mamonster 3y agoIt's basically (depending on seniority) like an analyst in PE/IB: Research the market for your companies, do most of gruntwork on startup DD, excel valuations/forecasts, make presentations,etc. I would say that yeah "Principal told me to do this so I need to get it done" is a good starting point, although for funds I'm familiar with (in Europe) it's a bit more structured than that.
