I was in the ICU after a motorcycle accident many years ago. I spiked a severe fever, and they used cold blankets -- sheet-sized, very thin ice packs -- to cool me down. Most assuredly, that experience sucked ass. Better than dying, I suppose, but not by much.
- Jeff_Brown 3y agoYeah the idea of being in a body bag full of ice water sounds pretty uncomfortable. If they were doing it to me I would ask to have my hands and feet put in something like boxing gloves to keep them warm. And my nads too, now that I think of it. Yeesh.
- pepa65 3y agoA fever is very different, and trying to cool people down should NOT be the first reaction.
- gcanyon 3y agoI don't know exactly how hot I was, but I was to the point of hallucinating -- I think it was a reasonable call.
