It's interesting the article doesn't indicate how they reach the conclusion that it was due to "entitlement". The only thing that seems to actually be indicated is that conservatives would complain more in different contexts. The reason of why seem to be totally left out and completely supposition and based upon the researchers predetermined biases.
It seems they didn't consider the possibility that it was simply a reasonable expectation that when you pay for work that work is completed at an acceptable level. Nor did they consider the vast amount of other studies and research that have shown that service work has declined in quality over the years.
It would be interesting if the research study took the complaints in a double-blind method to the owners or the management of the establishments to evaluate if these complaints were valid and if the service was done in an acceptable level. With that data you could then associate if they are being entitled and expecting more than what is supposed to be delivered or if the service was subpar and the complaint was appropriate.
Nowhere did I see this in this article it was simply if you complain you are entitled regardless of the validity and conservatives are more likely to complain.
