Neil deGrasse Tyson is a terrible spokesperson for scientists
- taeric 3y agoI was nervous going in on the headline. I don't want to be defending anyone, but I also don't see the point in holding up someone as a spokesperson for all scientists. At large, folks are doing well to speak for themselves. Don't let that stop you from this, though. I'll be listening to the full interview later, as it sounds very interesting. The headline concern can be boiled down to "even scientists talk past each other." Especially in experts, expect that most people are exposed to more caricatures of arguments than makes sense. To that end, kudos on staying engaged on both sides of this! This also introduced me to Norton's dome. Worth the price of admission just for that.
