I appreciate this move from Meta. It's clear that openAI is trying to do regulatory capture so they can stay ahead of the game. I think open source is the way to go, and it's what a lot of people in safety of AI talk about. We need to be able to see and test these models extensively while they're still at a stage that we can control. We need to see what kind of applications they bring: good and bad. So we're not caught off guard in the future. It's good.
