Gem Hunters Found the Lithium America Needs. Maine Won’t Let Them Dig It Up
- mydriasis 3y ago> Maine has some of the strictest mining and water quality standards in the country, and prohibits digging for metals in open pits larger than three acres. I live in Ohio, where we do fracking, among other things. There's all kinds of nasty stuff in the well water pretty much state-wide because of it. I've heard lots of anecdotes about it from friends across the state, not to mention the supply of YouTube videos regarding concerns over water quality. I'm standing with Maine on this one. You do it, Maine. Keep your water free of nappy garbage.
