Show HN: My Cover Letter Generator – Never Write a Cover Letter Again
Generate cover letters based on your resume and the job you're applying for.
- genezeta 3y agoNot even a sample of what can be expected? Uhm. Anyway, the Generate Cover Letter button has "cursor: not-allowed;" to imply it is not enabled if you don't fill the form first, but it actually works and proceeds to payment without checking the form fields.
- jdalton 3y agoThat's been corrected. Saw this come across the log about 13 minutes ago.
- chiefalchemist 3y agoFour initial thoughts: 1 - How does this differ from feeding ChatGPT your CV content, and the copy from the job posting? 2 - To that point, $2 is a high bar given there are no samples, examples, success stories, etc. 3 - I'm not being a nit-picky critic. I'm legitimately trying to help. 4 - Being able to generate a targeted (to the posting) CV *and* a cover letter...now that might worth rolling the dice and wagering a couple of bucks.
- jdalton 3y agoThank you for this feedback. Yesterday I did have a marketing copy where we provided a sample, but people were copying it then leaving the site :p I like item #4 a lot!
- Oras 3y agoDealing with CVs without having a privacy policy will be an issue. I would advice adding a privacy policy and terms pages explaining how do you use the data, are you keeping a copy? sharing it with 3rd party? what do you use to parse these CVs?
