USB-otg is the standard that allows usb devices (such as a smartphone) to act as a USB Host to other devices (such as a screen, or a USB stick). It is becoming much more common due to the prevalence of usb-c to usb-c cables, and thus the increasing tries of consumers to make things work because the connectors work (not that I think it shouldn't work, but it doesn't by default )
