- Angostura 3y agoYou better destroy your brain immediately old chum. It's an engine that spends most of its day organising, grouping, predicting the things you see, hear, smell, touch around you
- FollowingTheDao 3y agoSorry, are you saying I had the same obsessive collection that this dude did? I don’t walk around scientifically naming everything and ordering into phylum‘s and crap. Nor do I think it’s worth anything. By comparing what’s in my brain to this dude’s library, an external memory box which makes everyone’s organization of the world exactly the same, is a nice attempt at trying to defend your useless and damaging scientific pursuits.

Come on, you're being very un-FollowingTheDao. https://youtu.be/aaA6F35qAUY?t=2m34s https://youtu.be/aaA6F35qAUY?t=2m34s
- FollowingTheDao 3y agoAnyone who thinks the big Lebowski has anything to do a Daoism knows nothing about Daoism. Nothing is crap? Then why does the Dao treat everything like straw dogs? Spontaneity is one of the key traits of the Dao. And anyone following the Dao would show this trait. If someone acts like the dude all the time is that spontaneous? No, it’s rather predictable.
- Angostura 3y ago> Sorry, are you saying I had the same obsessive collection that this dude did? No. But, then that wasn’t what you said in the sweeping statement you made.
- lo_zamoyski 3y agoIn other news: living things are necessarily organized. Without organization, you would have no life. Life presupposes organs and parts acting on each other, i.e., heterogeneity of composition, which is, by definition organization. As soon as you have that, you have function and structure, and function and structure define species, allowing us to organize and classify species. (We can organize according to different measures, of course. Phylogenetic, ontological, etc.)
