Hi! I'd like you to know that despite this being downloaded, I completely agree! The ergonomics and repairability concerns of laptops, as you point out, are a big down side. That said, I think what you posted as a solution is not practical and perhaps not portable (Multiple pieces? wires?); maybe something like what you're thinking as an easy-to-use/portable/commercial solution could be a design goal for future portable PCs.
